              • Open and View a Single page on Job Editor without having to wait for the Viewer to process all the sheets in a job.

It can be a pain waiting for Job editor to process all the sheets just to look at a specific sheet especially if there are a lot of files it has to process.

                  Rick,

The new Job Explorer viewer was designed to view multiple files at one time, to replace the out-dated antiquated Image Viewer. The old Image Viewer was designed to view one sheet at a time. Over the years, almost all of PLP’s customers requested to have a viewer for all the files at once. Thus, the switch to the new Job Explorer.

You can still use the old Image Viewer, switching back and forth between the two. To do this, setup your job you would like to view in Job Editor, and then choose View>Always Use PlotWorks Viewer. This will switch the viewer to the old 1-page-at-a-time view.

To switch back, follow the same prompt as above, View>Always Use PlotWorks Job Explorer.

                  • Processing Countdown

It would be nice to get an approximate time a job with take to process, along with a countdown as the processing is taking place. Similar to upload/download times when using other programs. With three jobs currently processing on three machines, it means routine laps around the office to see which one is complete first.

                    • Distributing file processing using processing agent.

I'm a big fan to distributed processing (SETI@home) to fully utilize sleepy mutli-core workstations or servers. Design an agent that can be installed on a workstations or server to help cut down the amount of time to process files in Plotworks.

                      • password protected and secure pdf's

It would be great to have Plotworks have the ability to enter a password (if a password has been provided to us) to open up & process a password protected pdf file for printing.
I'm seeing more & more 'secured' pdf files come in for printing which Plotworks unfortunately cannot process for printing. In such cases, we just have to resort to an alternate software & work around it.

                        • Have a log created based on a per job basis, as opposed to a per sheet basis

It would help us if we could get a job log that contains a field that has calculated the total square footage on a per job (not sheet) basis.

                          • Add a square foot field into the accounting logs.

We would like to see a field where "final_xsize" is multiplied by the "final_ysize" included in the accounting logs as "final_sqft".
