Thank you for your idea! We will put in an enhancement request with the engineering team to see if this is a possibility of changing. The current functionality of renaming documents in the Properties sheet or in the Job Explorer Viewer is to rename the original file as you are renaming the files.

Replace USB license dongles with LAC for VM's
Serial and parallel port-based dongles were replaced by USB dongles, now it's time for USB dongles to be replaced by License Activation Codes. A lost or damaged dongle can be a nightmare to get replaced. VM servers often don't have USB ports available. USB over IP can work but adds unwanted complexity to the customer's environment.

Sheet Index Viewing
When printing a set of plans, we always have to view the PDFs sheet index to compare sheet by sheet (to see if anything is missing, mis-labeled, etc). Right now I open the TS in Adobe Reader, zoom into the actual sheet index, and view that window (skinny rectangle) next to the Job Explorer. I have to continually re-size the Job Explorer window (it does not revert to the previous window size when I reduce it each time) so everything fits on the screen.
Not sure how, but it would be great if somehow the Sheet Index could be easily…
9 votesThank you for the feedback. You can keep the same zoom level on the Job Explorer when navigating through the sheets. We created a how-to video for renaming, which will work in this case: http://plotworks.uservoice.com/knowledgebase/articles/199106-plotworks-training-series-volume-4-how-to-rename
Fast forward to 2:40, for the zooming and navigating process. You should be able to easily speed through the set to compare with a sheet index. We will create an enhancement to allow viewing of a cover sheet (title sheet) while viewing the Job Explorer.

Guidlines for the Image Viewer
Is it possible to enable the ability to pull guidelines down and across from the ruler bars (like in Photoshop and Ilustrator) that would remain static while advancing through documents?

You NEED to allow "click and drag" for rearranging file in the job editor!
I makes ZERO sense, for the sake of efficiency, to have to cut and paste every time I want to move drawings around.

15 votesThank you for your feedback. You can drag and drop to re-arrange files within the Job Explorer viewer currently. We will look to add this ability to the Job Editor in future updates.

Automatically separate full and small size plans within 1 job
I would like to send a 100 page job to PlotWorks, with mixed sheets full size and small size 12x9 and the system would automatically send the small sheets to the windows SFM printer, and the large sheets to the Oce Plotwave.

Automate output to file in full version of PlotWorks
We have been automating our prepress functions for a few weeks, I wanted to use PlotWorks along with Enfocus Pitstop and Switch to automate our conversion of PDF to Tiff I got ready and found and finally remembered that the output to file is a manual process. I needed polling and an automatic output to file. Just a thought Automation.

Capture finishing information in the ARU log
Currently, when billing jobs, we need to manually account for the finishing aspect such as; staples, tape, screws, etc. It would be very beneficial to our organization if this information was captured within the ARU log so it can easily be parsed out and added to an invoice.

Pause a job processing in the queue.
Would like to have the option to pause the processing for a job in the queue in order to process and print a job that was set up and ready to process behind it. Would make it ideal for being able to handle a small rush job that would normally have to wait until the previous job was finished processing.

Add option to Plotworks to output to file (Convert files) in 24-Bit True Color
Currently outputting to file can be done either in Monochrome or Dither Color (4-bit color). True color would be 24-bit color and provide optimal quality when outputting to file in color.
Vote this idea up to increase its chances of being included in the next round of Plotworks Updates.

45 votesCLARIFICATION: this idea refers to Output to File or converting to TIFF/PDF. It does not refer to printing. Plotworks currently allows a user to convert files to PDF/TIFF with two modes. 1) Dither Color which is 4-bit color and 2) Monochrome.
Unlike Output to File, color printing from PlotWorks is 24-bit true color.

Plotworks to support the Seiko LP 1030 and LP 2050 Wide Format Printers
We would greatly appreciate it, as we would like to be able to offer PlotWorks along with a Seiko Wide Format Printer as a bundle to our customers.

Multiple Crops in a single Sheet
At the moment, The crop feature in Job Editor only crops the outside of what you select. And it will print the area that is selected.
It would be nice to have the feature of multiple cropping IN so we can delete specific parts of the image and print the sheet without the areas that have been cropped.
We have a current workaround with this using a software but it would definitely make it quicker if Job editor had this feature.

Ability to Pause/Stop the Job Processor on the Master Q.
We want the ability to stop or Pause the Job processor from processing a big job in the Master Q./Traffic Cop Station.
An example is when a customer accidently sends in a 200mb file and we don't want it to process. Or a customer sends in 1000page specs and uses the plans tab to send the job and it ends up processing in the Master Q.
We've tried resetting the job as it's processing but it the processor and the Q. freaks out and we end up having to restart the computer because of it.PW-1118

Change the behavior of the job processor to enable quicker first set out prints
Job processor starts on the last page of the set and sends pages to print as they are processed. It would be a slow first set but there wouldn't be as much downtime waiting for single set jobs.
